I got an Email today from Johnkerry.com that displays a yawning gap in his grasp with reality.
Today's email from John Kerry's "campaign"? started as follows:
Dear Frank paul,
In recent days, John Kerry's call for a concrete plan on Iraq has moved the debate about America's future in Iraq forward. We've seen Democratic leaders like Senator Patrick Leahy, Tom Daschle, and John Edwards join in calling for linking drawing down troop levels to the achievement of clear-cut benchmarks.
We've seen President Bush personally attack the Kerry call for action. And, yesterday, we saw the Republican Senate forced to vote on a resolution that rejects the Bush "stay as long as it takes" aimless approach to the war in Iraq.
Senator Kerry's call for the withdrawal of 20,000 troops linked to the successful completion of December elections in Iraq is setting the standard for action over rhetoric.
BACK TO PLANET EARTH.
I can't believe that he still thinks he is a player and a viable alternative to Bush. He had his chance and he blew it. I think the sad truth is that his Senate term is up in 2008 and he has no intention of sticking around there so he might as well run for President in case Feingold, Clark, Hillary, Biden, Edwards and Gore all get taken out by Hurrican Zeta or the Bird Flu.
