Frequently, we see news reports about the number of casualties the US has encountered in Iraq. We hear about protest marches and memorials that display pairs of boots for every soldier killed on the ground, or we just open up the newspaper or our favorite internet site to get a picture of what the war brings us on a daily basis.
For the latest number of US and coalition troops, one can also cruise on over to iCasulaties.org to get the latest Iraq coalition casualties numbers by date, month, ethnicity, etc.
While it's a great resource when one desires to make a post about casualties stats, or make a point about casualties, sometimes simpler methods can be employed.
The folks over at
All Spin Zone,
sukabi particularly, have just put up a
post that links through to a short animation describing what 2000 looks like.
I would post the link directly here but since I asked, and they said I could post here, I'm going to direct you to ASZ for the link to the animation. It's only a few minutes long; about the length of an average song.
I have to admit, that title of this post is slightly misleading but you have to watch the animation to the end to understand why. It's worth it, in my opinion.
Here's that link again.
