I hate the fact that we still haven't won anything, because it feels a lot like we have. But we haven't. I want to gloat, but I know I shouldn't. Anyway, it certainly brightens my day to have that old warhorse Pat Buchanan show up in my movin'-picture box, and tell me how important it is to allow our military to spread propoganda.
I sure wish the transcript was posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it. If this diary is still here in a couple of hours, I'll update it.
Ron Reagan did a very respectable job on Tweety's show, I thought, talking about how if our mission is to spread truth, freedom, honesty in government and so forth in Iraq, how can we, with the other hand, spread a bunch of propoganda through the Iraqi press.
Ol' Pattie, though, he was hearing none of it. You've gotta get the American point of view out there regardless of whether anyone actually believes it, sez he.
I was surprised because Pat's been relatively anti-war and hasn't hesitated to bash the Bush, on occassion, of late. The whole thing devolved into a big laugh-fest as Pat's position became so patently ridiculous even he couldn't support it in the end. That was kind of fun to watch, though. Thanks for the laughs, Pat. Don't ever change.
