On the latest advice from Bobo:
Since being granted his NYT pulpit as an apparent attempt to counterbalance the liberal "shrillness" of Paul Krugman, David Brooks has had a penchant for advising Democrats how to act. Following up on his suggestion that Democrats should be a good little minority party and temper our overly partisan and personal criticisms of Bush (implicitly: don't emulate Krugman), Brooks has the gall to title his latest advice column: Rescuing the Democrats.
According to Brooks the reason the percentage of voters who identify themselves as Democrats has dropped from 49% in FDR's day to 32% today is because Democrats are snobs that don't share the same values as Joe & Mary Middleamerica.
