What will it take to make us conclude that the supposed democratic process is no longer functioning?
That is, what will it take to make us decide that the constitution and the elecoral process are being disrespected by the current administration to the point that the regime cannot be changed by the will of the majority?
And when we do come to that conclusion, what will we do about it?
Some would say that more than enough evidence to that effect has accumulated already: dozens of instances of decisive vote fraud in critical districts in critical states during successive national elections; instance upon instance of the government openly thwarting the constitution and US and international law; hundreds of documented war crimes by any standard; looting and open bribery parading unpunished before our eyes.
How much longer will we bind ourselves by a set of rules which the Republicans have no intention of observing?
And when we decide we will no longer do so, what will we do instead?
The point may not yet be here when the Republicans have broken the political system irretrievably. But hasn't the time come when we need to start planning for that point?
