After a wacky long quorum call, I think they are finally carrying on. What could they have been discussing?
Update [2005-12-21 23:31:59 by smokeymonkey]: The roll call votes have now been posted for this evenings crazy Senate session, which is still live under quorum call for morning business.
Update [2005-12-21 22:3:56 by smokeymonkey]: Yahoo article to rate. Has only 41 votes at posting time.
Update [2005-12-21 21:48:35 by smokeymonkey]: The roll call vote will be updated here..
Update [2005-12-21 21:31:17 by smokeymonkey]: Senator Ted Stevens resigns?
UPDATED: A unanimous consent agreement by Frist, Reid, Leahy, and others, that they have worked at all day, steps entirely on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge deal that Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska added to the Defense Appropriations bill in a last hour rule change. The results of the negotiations, literally all day, still live on C-SPAN2: 6-month extension of Patriot Act, Appropriations without ANWR, Kennedy speech, Stevens speech, voice votes, go home. That is my understanding and description for those that voted 'why am I here'.
I have crossposted this at SmokeyMonkey.org.
Aside about spying non-sense:
I hope Rockfeller, or someone, will point out that being briefed on super-secret shit isn't being complicit in the execution of the super-secret shit. The entire 'gang of super-secret bastards' were gagged. Rockefeller's letter only came out because the story did.
Stupid caller analog of the day: its like playing tennis, except you have to ask someone before hitting the ball back. He then follows up with a complete misunderstaning of the constitution. But then what do you expect. Anyone here that one?
Here's a 'did you know':
H.A. 280 to H.R. 2682, which became law on 11/22/2005 reads like this:
H.AMDT.280 to H.R.2862
An amendment numbered 15 printed in the Congressional Record to prohibit funds in the bill from being used to implement provisions of Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act which permits searches of library circulation records, library patron lists, book sales records, or book customer lists under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
You may or may not know that H.R.2862 is another appropriations bill:
H.R.2862
Title: An Act making appropriations for the Departments of Commerce and Justice, Science, and related agencies, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, and for other purposes.
