How the heck do I read a SAT score?
My daughter just got her results back, and I can't figure out what the score is supposed to be!!!
She's in the 6th grade, and this is her first time taking this test. As a matter of fact, it might be the first time anybody in my family has ever taken this test - a tribute, albeit extremely delayed, to the concept of 'Reading, Writing, and Route 23' (you Appalachian folks out there will get that).
Anyway, she got a 470 on her verbal, and a 480 on her math. So, do I average those scores for a total of 475, or do I add them for a total of 950?
I thought 1600 was the perfect score, but there is no one score on this darned paper! Have they changed the scoring system?
I did try to google this, but couldn't find anything definitive. I figured since there were a number of college students here, perhaps someone could help me out with this.
Any information would be deeply appreciated.
