Simple question to "on the one hander" nitwits like Kristof who say the Dems should put forward an alternative plan:
Alternative to WHAT? W steadfastly refuses to propose a plan, and it's obviously the kind of positioning strategy he's used his whole political career. As long as he doesn't say what his plan is, then his plan is whatever happens. Now the game is to engage the Dems in creating "his" plan for him. A bipartisan triumph, woo hoo. For a "problem" that didn't exist. With a "solution" that will inevitably mean the demise of the program, however covertly it does that.
This inane pretence that there's some sincere wish to solve a genuine problem here is greater evidence of the stupidity of the left than anything the Freepers have ever adduced.
HE'S the one who says there's a crisis, not us. Let him put a plan out there for the world to see. Bad enough for Dems to roll over and go along, but Kristof and his ilk think the Dems should write the legislation FOR him?
I hereby dub all such--including the quislings who are attending Lindsey Graham's study group, as noted on TPM--The MacFly Faction. As in:
"Hello? MacFly? I can't hardly turn in that report if you haven't written it for me yet, now can I?"
"Ha ha ha, no Biff, you're right, I'll get right on it..."
