Once upon a time common political wisdom had it that if the late night talk shows parodied a polictitian on a regular basis that was pretty much the kiss of death. Gerald Ford was doing fine until he stumbled on the stairs of Air Force One (not to mention his white socks). Johnny Carson had a great time with that. Ford lost to Carter.
Since everything is parody these days that adage has become as quaint as the Geneva Convention. However, last week on Le Show, Harry Shearer brought up the Gannon affair but only touched on it. As I expected, he had a hey day with old Jeffey Boy last night.
More below the fold
Harry spent several minutes detailing the sallient points of the Gannon/Guckert affair and then launched into one of his trademark production pieces that shouldn't be missed.

If your public radio station doesn't carry Le Show hound them until they agree to broadcast it. It is great radio and no one escapes the genius of Harry's sharp wit delivered with his amazing multiple radio voices.
This is my first diary entry. Bear with me when I make mistakes as I am an old tradesman with fewer computer skills than most. Now how do you do that italic thingy with the signature quote at the end?
