I've been a bit busy lately, which means I've been driving in to work a lot instead of walking,...
...which means I've been flipping through radio stations, which means I've been exposed more to the mainstream press than normal.
Over the past several days, I've noticed that "reporters" or whatever they are on NPR have been saying things like "Senator so-and-so's plan to make Social Security solvent", or like "in an effort to make Social Security solvent" etc.
I was not aware that Social Security is insolvent. Is it? If it's not insolvent, why is NPR saying that it is? Is this just another effect of CPB being taken over by corporatists? Is there an effective strategy to counter this without further tossing public radio into the laps of the lizard brains?
Please, only short answers in single-syllable words - my brain already hurts this morning.
