It's always good to know what righties are doing, and it's good, I think, to go into their portion of the blogosphere every now and then, and actually let 'em know there's something called
reality...
On my blog "Notes in Samsara," I've responded to Hewitt's invitation ( here) to post on this topic:
Should the GOP leadership in the Senate push to a confrontation with the Democrats over the filibustering of judicial nominees, and if the Dems filibuster even one judicial nominee, should the GOP move to the "nuclear option" of a rule change, even if Harry Reid threatens a Senate shutdown?
I responded with the quite reasonable suggestion that the Senate ought to do its job: it ought to
advise the President as to who would best represent the consensus in Americans, and it ought to
consent to those nominees that do represent the consensus of Americans.
That wasn't on Hewitt's menu, for some reason. Oh, yeah, that's right, it used ideas that were constitutional...
Now here's where I'd like your help:
1. If you want to, blog back to Hewitt, with some other reality based proposal- heck, even "Bush should appoint liberal judges!" This way, Hewitt would have, posted on his very website, links to progressive ideas.
Not a bad thing, IMO.
2. If Hewitt doesn't post links to our blog entries, (he reserves "the right to refuse links [he] consider[s] in bad taste"), then let's make it known that Hewitt's a wanker or worse...(unfavorable comparisons to Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf would be in order, IMO).
