This week's diary begins below the fold.
Allow me to start of this Progressive Memepool entry with an apology. I had intended to have a robust instant runoff voting system in place at this point in order to facilitate an ideal collaborative selection of last week's suggestions. I was unable to locate an online voting tool that...
- Allows instant runoff voting
- Is free
- Does not require participates to "register" or "sign up"
- Is hosted on a third party server (as opposed to my non-existent server)
If any of you bright Kossacks have any solution suggestions, please let me know.
That being said, let's move on to the yummy juicy bits.
As you may recall, the object of the Progressive Memepool project is to identify succinct memes that actually stand a chance of influencing center, and slightly right of center voters. In my research I had identified three factors that I believed to be useful in discovering such memes.
- Strong unapologetic attacks on the GOP's perceived strengths
- Reframing issues into unassailable "universally accepted" norms
- Creating cognitive dissidence between core values and GOP policies
In last week's Progressive Memepool diary I had asked the resident geniuses of Kossackstan (that's you, yes you. Don't be so modest.) for meme suggestions that could follow the rhyming mantra "I disagree with the GOP". The suggestions were numerous, brilliant, and appeared to fit into two themes.
* Foreign Policy / Veterans / War
and
* Domestic Policy / Health / Science
The poll in this diary is composed of twelve of the best suggestions for the first theme. Later this week I will post a poll for the second theme. The three memes receiving the highest votes in each theme will be placed on idisagreewiththegop.com

Next week the Progressive Memepool collaborative poll is going to head in a different direction. A number of you wisely commented that while "I disagree with the GOP" is a good frame with regard to poisoning the image of the Republican Party, we also need to work on sweetening the image of the Democratic Party. This challenge leads to this week's discussion.
Are there any succinct memes which can improve the Dems image among Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Jane average? In other words, what phrase can replace "I disagree with the GOP" and sit on top of the issue oriented memes we've been discussing thus far? "I agree with the Democratic Party" just doesn't seem to cut it. It needs to be catchy, non-threatening, compelling, and easily remembered.
How about it Kossacks?
