On the heels of that joke of a budget submission, now we have this revelation:
New White House Estimate Lifts Drug Benefit Cost to $720 Billion
We decried this when it was passed as a giveaway to big pharma, and coupling this news with the details of the budget submission (when they become available) should make for a powerful story.
While corporate america and wealthy individuals (often one and the same, of course) continue to pad their bank accounts, the job of erasing the largest deficits in our country's history falls on the middle class and the poor...both in terms of percentage of burden, as well as programs cut.
Has anyone seen a statistic on how much these individuals get back for every dollar they pay in taxes? We need to get this figure for both those making more than $200K per year and the middle class (go with its most common and acceptable definition) and drive, drive, drive it.
