This is my first diary, so, to the extent you can, be gentle.
I think there are many of us who are in agreement that we need to nationalize the 2006 congressional races in order to have a legitimate shot at retaking control of the House. I think even more of us agree that W's second-term "Contract on America" (TM someone smarter than I) provides substantial fodder for a nationalized congressional effort that focuses on the buyer's remorse that America will soon/may be already experiencing given that W's priorities have been: (1) phasing out SS; (2) taking away the right of consumers to sue; and (3) taking away the right of normal folks to claim bankruptcy protection, etc.
Here is my idea that I submit for discussion/debate/cogitation. What about a concerted push to convince the DCCC to push each and every one of the Dem candidates in 06, instead of having campaign banners, signs, etc. that read, for example, "Jane Smith for Congress" those materials would all read, for example, "Jane Smith for Progress." [A little more below. . .]
I believe that it would help provide the framing for a coherent, united message in 2006. In addition, it would allow for opportunities to create rhetorical flourishes playing off of the "Pro" v. "Con" concept. So what do you think?
