How many of those annoying credit card offers do
you get in the mail each week? As of this week, I've recieved two.
In light of the recent bankruptcy bill and since Senator Durbin's amendment to discourage predatory lending practices was voted down, not only by every single Republican, but by three Democrats as well... in light of that, I've been doing some thinking about what I could do.
Admittedly, I can't do much on my own. I've emailed info. about the bill to everyone I know, urging them to write their senators. I myself have not only written my senators, but I've also written to the three Democrats who consistently voted with the Republicans against amendment after amendment to this already wretchedly unfair bill.
Those three are Sen. Nelson (Neb), Sen. Carper (Del) and Sen. Johnson (SD).
So instead of throwing those annoying credit card offers into the trash, I think I'm going to forward them on to the traiterous trio along with a note expressing my concern that they would not want to reign in the muli-billion dollar credit card industry.
In my little daydream, I picture everyone at dKos and other blogs all over the Information Superhighway forwarding their credit card offers to these three Senators. Pretty soon the trend catches on... parents paying off their college children's credit card debt unite under one common cause... people fighting to reach the top of their mountain of credit card debt join in the effort. Credit card offers are spilling out of the senator's mailboxes... falling out of their office windows onto the streets of DC... headlines proclaim "A STORM OF CREDIT CARD OFFERS HIT D.C.!!!" Our traiterous senators are shown on the nightly news groveling for the forgiveness of their constituents, promising to never consistently vote with Republicans against the best interests of their constituents again.
While I don't think my daydream will come true, and while it's no doubt too late to stop this bill anyway, I still plan on forwarding my credit card offers to the Three Senators.
My small way of letting my displeasure be known.
