I know this may be hard for some of you to believe, but apparently some Senators and members of Congress have been caught with there hands in the porno industry cookie jar. Now regardless of what you personally feel about pornography, for a politician to declare publicly the evils of pornography but then accept money from companies which profit directly from pornography meets the definition of hypocrisy. This is not simply an attack on the Con's either. Our own [sarcasm evident] Sen. Liebermann was also caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
The report itself is available at www.citizensforethics.org
It breaks down exactly how the cable and hotel companies directly profit from pornography and to whom those companies and their executives donated money to in the past election cycle.
Notably absent from the list was miss Liddy Dole who I know took several thousand from Marriott. But as I understand it this report focused on the worst offenders.
So now we ask ourselves,"Does this really matter." Well if hypocrisy is something that bothers you then yes it does matter. Both progressives and con's can agree that when a particular politician makes a stand for something it truly shouldn't be simply double talk.
How do we approach this subject and let's be honest, exploit it for maximum benefit? If ever a case could be made for a pitchfork rebellion this is a good one. The religious wrong are very sensitive to things such as this. Could this story get traction over in Freeper land? Is it worth the effort? I say yes on both counts. I do not believe that we can afford a single day without, loudly and strongly protesting the hypocrisy and backwards agenda of this Con administration.
