The US Conference of Catholic Bishops will be launching a new campaign to end the Death Penalty in the United States, according to the USCCB website. The Press Release will be made on March 21, 2005. This is good news to many of us involved in the effort to abolish the Death Penalty, and to those who often wonder why the Church often seems so one-sided in its defense of life. I don't believe it is, since the USCCB has issued major, consistent statements against the Death Penaly since 1980, but these statements are often ignored.
