Pennsylvanians aren't likely to forget that today is the second anniversary of the Gulf War. Here in the Lehigh Valley,
we buried one of our own yesterday, another victim of Bush's arrogant war.
If you're looking for a great way to combine your activism with music, coffee and used books, look no further. Join us at the Bethlehem Book Loft and Caffeine Cafe tonight for a very special event:
"War is a Wonderful Thing: An Evening of Dissent Featuring Real West" 8-10 PM tonight in Bethlehem
This event has been featured on
The Nation's Act Now! blog
and is listed on the United for Peace and Justice roster of March 19th events.
And, for your one-stop activism shopping pleasure, a host of local peace, human rights and progressive organizations will be on hand as well.
There's more information about Real West and details of the event available in this article.
The Bethlehem Book Loft and Caffeine Cafe is located on the South Side of Bethlehem. It's smoke-free and very family friendly, with a terrific little children's book section. The vibe is very relaxed and friendly.
Will we stop the war tonight? No, of course not. But we can join together to vent our frustration and meet our like-minded friends and neighbors. Just like spending time at dailykos, events such as these let us know we're not alone, and that is a very powerful thing indeed.
