Again, because I can't summon up any more rage from all the draining outrages of the day, I propose something new to talk about, this time with something sort of skewed away but not quite off topic.
So.....yeah...
Any fans of Boston Legal here, or at least anyone who watched yesterday's episode? Ok, ok, disregard the whole 'nympho' case side of the episode. What I'm more interested in is good ol' James Spayder's character going down to Texas (home of Fear Leader George W. Bush) to try and get a stay of execution from what seemed to be a state bent on ramming through any and all executions.
I don't know how accurately Texas judiciary and legal system are portrayed in the show, but it got enough outrage and anger in me to wonder how anyone involved in that sort of thing (I'm looking at YOU, Bushy boy!) can claim to support a 'culture of life'. So, anyone have an idea on that?
Another thing that annoyed me was Zeke's insistence that his only salvation was in God. Ok, now I'm not against believing in salvation through God (being a former Catholic and all). But what annoys me is the browbeating and (may I say it?) brainwashing that can convince a guy like him that he's a monster and that there's no salvation for him on earth, when he literally cannot remember the 'crime he may-or-may-not-have committed. Especially when it seems like no one's willing to actually throw him a bone.
