I have refrained from writing any diaries about this. I've made phone calls to several talk radio shows, so I'm not opinionless on this. I'm writing this for the sole reason that an interesting challenge has been made by Michael Schiavo
(warning: World Net Daily linkage):
According to the St. Petersburg Times, Schiavo invited both President Bush and his brother, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, to visit Terri at the hospice where she is undergoing a court-ordered starvation death after her feeding tube was removed Friday.
"Come down, President Bush," Schiavo said in the Times interview Saturday. "Come talk to me. Meet my wife. Talk to my wife and see if you get an answer. Ask her to lift her arm to shake your hand. She won't do it."
This is a ballsy move by Schiavo, but I'm not surprised by it. Someone who has been through as much as he has must have a high level of personal strength to continue on what he feels is the right path. Now let's see if Chicken George and Jeb! have the guts to answer his challenge and come face to face with the shell of Terri. I only wish that Michael Schiavo had include Tom "Who Me?" DeLay in the invitation.
The World Net Daily article is the only source I can find for this right now; most of the article has the usual slant of their other "news" pieces. What's important is that this challenge has been made.
