Thought I'd turn everybody on to a documentary playing on HBO on Thursday Night. Read of this earlier on LA Times' site, but it's part of their Calendar Live site which requires a paid subscription.
The film is called Left of the Dial. Apparently there was a group of documentary filmmakers present at the birth, the subsequent financial struggles, and the early startup problems at Air America Radio. It's at 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Pacific on HBO.
Apparently it was a near run thing as to how close the network came to folding last spring. It was closer than I thought (and I read a lot at the time about their problems).
Here's HBO's writeup of the show.
