Well, as a relative political newbie, I have to admit I was practially in tears on Monday night - tears of frustration.
As much as I've tried to stay neutral and ABB, I've had a not-so-secret love of the Dean campaign. I've donated money, stuffed envelopes at their old office in Burlington early last spring, and told all my friends and family how I feel about the guy.
To watch the media pump him up and then systematically try to destroy him is killing me. I admit, I got a bit huffy late Monday night when I told my bf that I was going to sit out the '04 election if Dean didn't get the nomination. (to which he promptly reminded me of my own words to him a few months ago, which was....any of these guys is better, even if marginally, than Bush). I know, I know, I know, and I will vote. I've voted in every election since 1996, which I know isn't many, but it's more than most people my age do.
I am also headed to NH this weekend (weather and my impending cold permitting) to do what I can for Dean and will be donating $100 to him tomorrow when I get paid.
It's more than just a dumb election - I'm invested in this and I really, honestly feel that Dean is different from the other candidates and can shake up the status quo some...
