Sitting in an airport now, and had a thought - how's the DKos Community doing?
Back in November I wrote this:
I've read the complete thread on Kid O's Diary and a couple of subsequent diaries on the same. I think folks are missing the heart of Kid's point. Which I take to be this -
You see. There are too many of us to make this community work as it is flowing in its present form. . . . with the culture we've laid out this past month. We are beginning to fail to live up to what made dKos great in the past imo ... and it is our job to fix it the best we can. . . . If it hadn't been fraud then it would have most certainly been something else... anything where enough folks felt strongly enough about an issue to sincerely, and no doubt, unintentionally, subvert the very reason for dKos to exist: you see, dailyKos is the discussion and conversational crossroads for the community of Kossacks, ie. us. And, at the end of the day, we are individuals visiting a blog for the reason all individuals visit blogs: community, information, humor, wit, discussion, and to be part of something online and cool

So, four months have passed. Kid O moved to greener pastures for reasons wholly unrelated to community. How is the community doing? What is good? What is bad? What can we do to make it better?
Other than getting rid of an asshole frontpage poster I mean.
