I am particularly disappointed that he has brought up "anti-semitism". As I have said before, the netroots community has grabbed the tiger by the tail and kicked it in the ass. I sure as hell hope the community has the tenacity to stay with this to get Lamont elected. I too would be happy to see a real democrat representing Ct.
If the best we can say of 2006 is that we replaced Lieberman with either a real democrat or a real republican, we will have squandered a tremendous opportunity at a time of desperate national need. Elsewhere on dailykos today, someone spoke of things they learned about over the past 6 years. All of those things bespeak incompetence, corruption, and frankly the evil of the Bush administration. Joe's enablement of that administration should end August 8. But, there are far more important things for the netroots community to spend its time on: removing card carrying Republican house and senate members.
Please remember, that while Joe has been an enabler, it is Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Frist, Delay, Hastert, and a host of real Republicans who have truly done the damage over these past 6 years. You as Democrats and I understand that the damage won't be easily fixed. It is going to take years of sacrifice to undo the unrestrained orgy of fiscal and policy madness that was brought on by the current administration. There has not been anyone who could say "NO" since 2002.
The only way this is going to start to get fixed is to take at least one of the houses and preferably both. That takes focus well beyond weeding out Joe Lieberman.
