I just learned that Bush will visit my mostly-white-and-GOP suburban community next week, a weekday morning. It will be the first time a sitting president has come here in 16 years or so (Poppy came here once).
This will be one of Bush's dog-and-pony shows on Social Security. The local media said that the guest list is being "very carefully chosen" from among local business leaders and through the approval/vetting of Congressman Tom Reynolds' office. Reynolds represents only a small portion of our local area but is a close FoG and also a high-level member of the RCC.
The meeting will last about an hour and will be held in a local high school auditorium. Here's the kicker:
The high school received a "handful" of tickets, according to local media. Therefore, not only will few students have the chance to attend this important meeting about
their future, but apparently they are also to be
placed under lockdown for close to two hours while Bush is in the house.
Such regard he shows for those who will be burdened... er... "benefited" by his plan (if they aren't cannon fodder first). If I were in such a position, I can guarantee I would never forgive or forget the insult.
