Chalk one up for the good guys:
A Texas judge held that Bill Ceverha, the treasurer of a political committee formed by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, violated Texas election code by not reporting hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions and expenditures. The ruling means that Ceverha will need to pay almost $200,000 to five Democratic candidates who lost legislative races in 2002.
To date, Congressman DeLay has not been accused of any wrongdoing connected to this case.
