Internet under attack in Congress
http://www.freepress.net/action/sessionsbill
A bill just introduced in the House could destroy universal, affordable Internet access everywhere.
The "Preserving Innovation in Telecom Act" (H.R. 2726) http://tinyurl.com/aczk8 (this is a PDF) would let big cable and telecom companies shut down Community Internet and municipal broadband projects being planned across the country.
The bill would prevent state or local governments from providing "any telecommunications service, information service or cable service" anywhere a corporation offers a similar service.
This outrageous legislation was introduced by Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) -- a former SBC executive -- and is a blatant effort by the telecom and cable companies to cement their monopoly control of communications at the expense of innovation, competition, and local choice.
We need your help to stop H.R. 2726. Please send a letter to your representative now.

I live in Tacoma, WA and I use Click which is provided by Tacoma City Light for my cable TV and my cable internet access. Both are cheaper then comcast.
Tacoma used to have the worst cable out of all the major cities in WA state until the city decided to force some competition on the big boy (comcast was TCI at the time). The city decided to ask the voters if they want to do this and a BIG YES was the answer.
The big boy decided to try and fight it and when they could not they decided to upgrade their Tacoma cable service at lightning speed... hmmm... how interesting.
The other thing is that with Click I get to choose my ISP (there are only three but they are all local with the big boys you MUST use them - monopoly!). What I have heard from within the ISP crowd is that TCI, AT&T, Comcast (all their names in the past) bought off many of the ISPs to not do buisness with Click.

The following ISPs work with Click:
