Today, for the second time in about a month, I received a very colorful piece of mail from the "Medicare RX Education Network" extolling the wonders of the new Medicare prescription drug coverage.
With pictures of smiling seniors of various hues, I am told that I can look inside to learn how I can save.

The flyers have all kind of details of how wonderful the plan is, and an 800 number for more information (1-800-medicare).
Now, apart from the fact that I'm only in my 40s -- is this being mass-mailed to every household in the country or am I being mistaken for a senior -- I find amusing that the return address on both pieces of propaganda is the US Chamber of Commerce.
This fact confirms my worst suspicions about this prescription drug "benefit" -- that it's all about screwing seniors and helping pharmaceutical companies and other assorted Bush cronies.
Why else would the Chamber of Commerce spend the time and money to send out this kind of mass mailing?
Or am I being too cynical??
