Now we all know how horrible the recruitment is for the military and it's looking worse and worse by the day. But I think President Bush has the right idea on how to raise enlistment numbers.
And how you ask. It's simple, give economic benefits to the richest of America's citizens and continue to make everyone else poorer. Encourage the outsourcing of jobs, ignore illegal immigration and make sure those jobs at McDonalds are being fought over by about 50 people. And definitly make sure there is no health care for these people. So now you have tons of people aged 18-27 who can't afford to go to college or can't get a decent living or pay for any medical bills when they get sick. Then they see a recruiter who tells them about all the wonderful benefits of joining the United States Military. So then you'll have millions of people really making decisions they never would have thought about before. Do I continue making $5.15/hr at Wal-Mart or do I join the Army and get $1,234 (made up number) per month, health and dental insurance, with the risk of fighting in an unjust war.
So while we've been decrying President Bush for forcing a class warfare type of culture by making the rich richer and the poor poorer, what he's really done is encouraged a society that will make the military it's best possible job where then they will be trained, sent off to a foreign land where a decent majority of the people in the country hate us and want us gone or, worse, dead. So for this I have to say thank you President Bush for forcing enlistment in the military to fight your illegal war. And by thank you, I mean fuck you.
