Well, for all those who thought the filibuster compromise was good for Democrats, the reasoning being it saved our powder for the BIG fight, the SCOTUS, guess again. See below
Here's what Harry Reid is attributed as saying in the NY Times.
Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic leader, said Monday that he did not foresee a filibuster against President Bush's choice for the Supreme Court, but warned that Democrats would not hesitate to slow the confirmation if they found the process or the nominee objectionable.
So now, no filibuster for non-SCOTUS nominations, no filibuster for SCOTUS nominations?
I guess we really did keep the right to filibuster, by promising never to use it. If only Republicans kept their promises as faithfully as we do.
Now with poll!
