Could it be true? The actor who has inspired the most impersonations since Jimmy Stewart
has "officially" joined the 2008 presidential circus. though he doesn't mention party affiliation in the minimal info posted at this new site, I get the impression that he seems to be on the left side of the spectrum (being pro stem cells and pro campaign finance reform) but he is very vague at this point. I don't really know what to think about this other than musing on the obvious boondoggle this will provide to Jon Stewart & Co if true. Will he run as a Democrat or an Independant? Will he woo voters like his character in "The Continental"? Will he scare the children? Are we being punk'd? I may not be a trivial psychic, but I predict that he will get plenty of publicity as 2008 nears if he's running.
UPDATE: I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but it's a good bet that the site is a hoax. The little quotes at the top of each page are giveaways. I can't imagine that anyone actually running would prominantly feature these quotes on a campaign site:
"I make movies that nobody will see. I've made movies that even I have never seen."
"If you want to build a house, build a house. Don't ask anybody, just build a house."
"Words are like little bombs. They have a lot of energy in them."
The internets are fun!
