Matt Drudge is trying to
slam Cindy by quoting her as saying the following:
- "We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We're waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush!"
- "We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now."
- "They're a bunch of fucking hypocrites! And we need to, we just need to rise up..."
I must apologize, I was mistaken with my initial writeup. Casey Sheehan was killed in April 2004, while Cindy apparently said these things in April 2005. I thought she said these things 23 days after Casey's death, but apparently it was one year afterwards.
That being said, instead of deleting this diary, I'll keep it around because it has stirred up some worthwhile discussion of how far she should go in the public's eye in her criticism of Bush. Ie - should she stand by her comments as being said in sound mind, should she say she was grieving and may have been overzealously ranting, or something else?
On another note, there have been good comments about Drudge and the rest of the freepers trying to argue two sides of the same coin. First they try to smear Cindy by claiming she praised Bush after her meeting with him. Now Drudge is trying to smear her by claiming she's overely critical of him.
Do you think her comments are over the top?
On another note - can someone tell me how to change the poll entries? They don't seem to want to change.
