Recently we've seen a spate of diaries talking about the anticipated horrors of the
the end of cheap oil.
And we're all clear about the devastation visited on the planet by "the prize" in the form of wars, political corruption and environmental devastation. Clearly, the use of oil is BAD.
Or, maybe not.
I have a contrarian view I'd like to put forward for consideration. I humbly suggest that all environmentally-conscious, peace-loving people drive Hummers and live in the most energy-inefficient, oil-heated home they can possibly afford.
Excellent work soldier! Don't let anyone put that thing out!
Burn as much oil as you can as fast as you possibly can. Burn it for fun in your backyard. Leave your car and lawnmower running overnight. Wake up, gas them up and run them all day long. Every day. Do your part to bring on the crisis.
Find as many ways in your life to burn as much oil as you can; waste it, squander it, splurge with it. Throw it around like it's going out of style -because it is, and you're making it happen. Construct your lifestyle around burning every possible drop of the stuff. Crank your heat up to 90 and open all the windows.
God why why WHY!?
No More Oil = No More Oil Industry
No More Oil Industry = No More Oily Politicians
No More Oily Politicians = No More Oil Wars and Devastation
Oil running out? Not fast enough for me, pal. Tomorrow there will only be more ubiquitous and lethal weapons around to fight corrupt oil wars with. Burn it ALL. NOW. HURRY.
Save the planet. Burn all the oil.
