Hi Everybody
The meetup is tonight. I'm busy today so I'm just gonna repost the info from the diary a posted a couple of days ago.
KGB Bar
85 East 4th Street
212-505-3360
Meeting time: 7:00 (I think it opens right around then so don't come too early.)
The one tricky thing about KGB is that it's not on the street level. You enter through some, I believe, glass doors, and it's up the stairs and to the right.
It's a very neat place, one that will at least have you thinking about drinking straight vodka shots and arguing loudly late into the night.
A couple of people mentioned that they weren't into the idea of meeting at a bar and I apologize for that. I know a lot of folks have bravely fought off devil alcohol and other drugs and as such don't feel comfortable at bars so next time I promise I will dig up a place that isn't so alcohol-centric. (And some people just hate bars!)
p.s. If you're going to be late and want my cell phone to see if the partay is still hopping, email me and I'll send it to you.
Don't be afraid to come out for a first time. Everyond is really nice and fun to talk to.
Also, I did a poll on Hillary and what New Yorkers think about her running for president, and I found out that as someone who wants her to run, I am DEFINITELY in the minority. Most New Yorkers like her as a senator and want her to stay that way. Oh well, I guess I'm a DINO after all!
And now on to the next poll question. What do you all think of the backpack checks in the subways. I noticed one for the first time yesterday in the Park Slope 7th Ave. station. There were three cops, and given that one was a black guy, another a white guy and the third a white woman, I had to wonder if NYPD and Bloomie weren't going out of their way to keep checkers diverse in an effort to take the steam out of critics who say that profiling will be inevitable.
Then again, maybe it was just a coincidence.
