Ok, I'll be the first to admit it. If this were a diary, it would be a "pithy" one. (and I'm the first to criticize pithy diaries.)
Now that I've gotten that off my chest, Congratulations.
More below the fold...
Congratulations to all the activists out there for doing your part.
Every critical word on your blog,
every call to your rep or senator,
every post on dKos or MyDD or the myriad other progressive blogs.
Congratulations to every Google bomber that derides Bush and his cohorts,
every anti-bush email you've forwarded,
every pro soldier, anti war post you've made.
Congratulations to everyone who's linked to a NYT editorial that gets to the facts. (or WaPo or, or, or...)
To every letter-to-the-editor you've written published or not,
Congratulations To every person who's challenged bankrupt authority.
To everyone who cares deeply about the role of this country in the world and sees how messed up things are now.
To anyone who admits that the emperor is naked.
It's working. Slowly but surely the kool-aid drinking nut cases are coming around. Pretty soon, we might be able to call some of them "our own."
Look at the polls. Depending on who you ask, Bush is at 37 to 40% approval. Below 40% and we're dipping into kool-aid drinkers.
In case you needed a reminder, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Our squeeking is getting attention focused on the the noisy wheels.
Our squeeking is giving backbone to highly placed progressives. (Reid)
It's forcing Bush and co. on the Defensive. Bush is even attacking Kerry.
To me, that is progress. Bush is worried about a Senator he beat in an election.
Bush can no longer set the agenda.
Bush must acknowledge the voices of the opposition.
He can't hide.
His words are no longer sacred.
It's amazing what a little outrage can accomplish.
Keep it up,
ARB
