Bush has made this his "culture divide" wedge issue. I think that's a mistake for Bush, and if Kerry acts quickly and decisively, he can hang Bush with it.
Here are my three main talking points:
- This just shows how out of touch Bush is with the American people. When ordinary Americans get up in the morning, what's on their minds is how hard it is to find and keep a job; how they can't afford health care; how our world is less safe thanks to Bush's reckless foreign policy. Why is Bush trying to divert our attention from these critical issues?
- I thought Republicans believed in states rights and staying out of people's business? Why are they trying to force their agenda down people's throats?
- The Constitution -- and the American way -- is about expanding rights for all, not trying to limit them (credit a previous post for that language). Why is Bush wanting to waste our time and energy to with this intrusive ammendment, when there are much more pressing priorities to the American people?
