Even though the vast majority of "looting" footage I've seen on the news today consisted of people carrying FOOD and DRINK...the various talking heads feel the need to frame it as a desperate act of vandals and cretins, as opposed to a desperate act of people trapped in a city with no food, water, electricity and no way out of the city.
Now, I'm sure there are opportunists, taking advantage of the horrible situation on the ground, but the National Guard has yet had the opportunity to set up food distribution networks, and there is no ETA for it to happen, at least at this point.
So at what point does the "looting" really become "self-preservation"?
