Apparently, the Bush Administration is thrilled with the results we've had the last couple of years with global warming causing the
freqency and intensity of storms to increase.
In a stunning example of "can you say 'bad timing'?" the National Resources Defense Council obtained draft rules from the EPA permitting more pollution from power plants.
Basically, having already
relaxed New Source Review rules that require existing power plants to gradually upgrade their pollution control devices as they replace old equipment or install more capacity, Bush wants to gut the rules completely and allow tens of thousands of tons of now illegal emissions to be generated.
Just like with CAFE ("corporate average fuel econonmy - i.e. average fleet gas mileage) standards, Bush hasn't met a cost-effective pro-environment, pro-national security measure he doesn't want to stop.
