Al-Qaeda just got a new video camera and deputy dawg Ayman al-Zawihri couldn't wait to make a video to tell us they're going to try to kill more people.
No s***, Sherlock.
In this new age of terrorism, a strange thing is occurring. People realize how powerless they are to stop random terrorist acts, so instead of being afraid, they just grit their teeth and hope they're not in the wrong place in the wrong time. And where these videos with the dreaded terrorist leader vowing death to infidels over some b-roll of said leader wandering in the desert used to strike fear in our hearts, they now just spark resignation. This terrorist stuff sucks, but what are you going to do?
So, while the "war on terror" drags on, whatever it is that these terrorists were ever supposedly fighting for is meaningless. They might as well just make a video that says "we like to kill people," because that's all there is anymore.
Next time you get a new camera, guys, save us the rhetoric and the big guns in the background. We are numb to it.
All you've done is make life worse for the people you claim to want to help. When this truth becomes clear to them, that's when the show will be over for you. And your videos will have as much importance as the tapes of last season's Survivor auditions.
