With one hand the Bush increases the burden on the working classes by removing the floor on wages and on the other he creates a great feeding trough for his corporate pals with no bid contracts on the Katrina clean up. There is absolutely no accountability for the profits that the clean up companies can make. Where's the shared sacrifice?
With fiscal conservatives already squirming about the cost of the clean up, we have an opportunity to drive a wedge into the conservative coalition. Dems should be demanding a cap on clean up profits every chance they can. It both highlights that Bush demands sacrifices from the average Joe but not from rich corporations and that they are willing to bust the budget if the can throw money at their friends.
