That's right. It's
Constitution Day.
No, it's not a holiday. We don't get time off work, or school, or paid vacation. We don't get a nice moment of silence in the AM. The flag is not flown at half-mast. Instead, our schools and universities are required to teach Constitution today.
What we do get, is an egregious abuse of power, for lack of better words. Although, the case can certainly be made that the Legislative Branch of government has absolutly no authority to enact such a law.
There is nothing in the [Constitution] that permits the federal government to tell local schools what they can and cannot teach.
The bill [is] also at odds with the 10th Amendment's restriction of the federal government to only its enumerated powers, as well as the 9th Amendment's guarantee of liberty, the 13th amendment's prohibition of involuntary servitude, as well as the whole spirit of the document that is supposed to restrict what the federal government can do.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks of this? I'd tend to agree that learning the constitution is good, but forcing it on people is not desireable in any case.
Comment away, and have a great weekend.
