Looks like the preznit is not going to be landing in San Antonio today according to the
Houston Chronicle Blog site:
President Bush at the last minute cancelled his trip to San Antonio, because the rescue crews he was to visit there have moved into Houston, indicating the government considers Houston to be an increrasingly stable storm environment.
Bush "did not want to slow the process down" while personnel were on the move, according to McCllelan.
The president flies directly to Colorado and NORTHCOMM, which coordinates the military response to disasters.
At least he seems to have learned something about getting out of the way of the people actually doing the work. Now he can go safely hole himself up away from DC and those nasty anti-war protesters.
