This is something that may not warrant a diary but people seem to love diaries about the Daily Kos so what the hell? I have been wondering about where are all the people who have signed up for the Daily Kos. There are a lot of regulars and a lot of new people.
But I look at who recommends diaries and even when the diary has been up for a day, the list of recommends is not very long in comparison to the number of people who have signed up for the Daily Kos.
I am concerned about the Daily Kos drop out rate. Do people sign up for a short time and not return?
I know dKos gets a lot of viewers on a daily basis. This is great. But it also seems that a lot of people sign up and do not stay with the website. This is undoubtedly par for the course with many blogs and websites. People have lives. People are busy out there in the real world saving it from the Republicans.
However, I am still think that we can welcome new people and encourage people to stick around. We can also recruit others to dKos. I find the Daily Kos to be such a wonderful source of information and true passion of progressive politics. But maybe we are not encouraging people to stick around. Maybe we attack people a little too often. I realize debate is part of what makes the website work so well. But maybe we can try to remember there is a human being on the other side of the comments and diaries being written.
Okay. I'm done. Just wondering why so many people leave dKos.
