A poll memo was just released regarding the PA 8th CD district - a generally moderate district many regard as being a possible pick up for Democrats.
More on the flip.
In general:
*Democrats have a 4 point advantage, 40-36 over republicans, in a general ballot with no candidates.
*32% of likely voters give Mike Fitzpatrick, the incumbant Republican, a negative job rating. This comes nine months into his freshman year as a representative.
*Fitzpatrick is completely pro-life, while 61% of likely voters support the right to choose.
Finally....
*In a head to head match up, Patrick Murphy, the democratic "front runner" trails Fitzpatrick 46% to 35%, with 19% undecided. Fitzpatrick though, has a 4 to 1 lead in name reconginition, 88%-23%.
Certaintly this bodes well for the district as a whole, and especially for Murphy. he's already recieved a major endorsement in Sandy Miller, the highest democrat in office in Bucks County, and enjoys a wide fund-raising lead over his two opponents, Paul Lang and Andy Warren.
Memo here.
