Jesus Holy Christ, when the hell did the culture of crying take hold of our government? I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't stand it. I feel like
Tom Hanks in
A League of Their Own.
Crying? Crying?! There's no crying in government!
First we saw it with George Voinovich's
tearful plea regarding the Bolton nomination. Crying over a nomination? Crying?!
I need 10 cc's of perspective, stat! And today, Senator Dick Durbin had a
tearful apology for his controversial remarks regarding our military. He was right to apologize, but to cry in the process? Are you kidding me?! What the hell is going on here?
Unfortunately, there's more.
Al Franken seems to be a regular crier. He cries nearly once a week on his radio show and just recently had a full blown
crying meltdown after receiving the Freedom of Speech award. Al, we all know you love the troops, but for the love of all that is good, turn off the waterworks! Isn't it enough to just
say you love the troops? Do you really need to get all gushy? Enough already!
