Interesting analysis on Tom Delay in the Houston Chronicle.

Did someone in Tom Delay's group turn him in?
There's speculation from some Texas lawyers that that is exactly what happened.
That's just conjecture but there is agreement on one thing: That Ronnie Earle HAS to have SOMETHING on Tom Delay (aside from all that indirect evidence) that is going to nail him.
Otherwise, it'd be political suicide & Earle isn't a dummy.
Earle, unsuccessfully prosecuted Sen Kaybee Hutchinson for using state employees for her own personal service, so he would not be looking to be beat again.
So, the question is what (OR WHO) does Earle have?
This as polls continue to show Delay has slipped with voters here:
Nearly 40 percent polled by Zogby International said their opinion of DeLay was less favorable than last year, compared with 11 percent who said their opinion of him had improved.
Here's a bland summary of the case: Q/A
Also, is Earle going to prosecute Texas House Speaker Craddick?
Wow! The man has balls!
& again, before you keep hearing how partisan Ronnie Earle is, listen to how he's pissed off many Democrats:
"Best I can tell, for the most part he's been an
equal opportunity abuser of Republicans and Democrats," said University of Texas at Austin government professor Bruce Buchanan.
He's bothered both when he thinks there's a case. I take that as a measure of integrity."
