Blogs (not so much Daily Kos) are exaggerating claims that the military, FEMA and other government groups are blocking the press.
Daily Kos coverage of the issue are somewhat justified based on the widely reported FEMA email request not to photograph bodies, and the Peter Williams blog.
But on the other hand, the reports from Joel Johnson and another anonymous blogger have been blasted by boingboing but seem suspicious. Why? Because the mainstream media doesn't seem to be having a problem reporting. Witness Oprah Winfrey at the Astrodome.
I was really pissed off when I read the boingboing articles because censorship would be terrible. But I was even more pissed when I discovered from my own research that it's not all that bad. Research, people - try it.
I just added a section to the Wikipedia article by the way - Claims of restrictions on the media - documenting my findings.
