So I got my first mail from NewsMax after adding to their poll yesterday. Gotta tell ya', I had no idea they were so damn funny. The story they're "reporting" is whether the Secret Service will be investigating Mary Landrieu's threat to W.
The U.S. Secret Service won't say whether it's investigating Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu after she threatened to "punch" President Bush earlier this week during a fit of anger over Hurricane Katrina.
"She might have been joking," Secret Service spokeswoman Lorie Lewis told NewsMax on Wednesday, after being told of Landrieu's comments on ABC's "This Week."
Here's the whole thing
It also goes on to explain how the agency had investigated Jesse Helms in '94 for his threat against Clinton where he said Clinton "had better watch out if he comes down here. He better have a bodyguard."
NewsMax is upset because that incident caused a media "firestorm" and Landrieu's "much more explicit threat to 'punch' Bush" had prompted no investigation.
The wrap up then mentions the "Go F*** yourself, Mr. Cheney" moment followed with the insight:
If the Landrieu case is any indication, however, apparently threats against the executive branch aren't taken as seriously as they once were.
I don't why I find NewsMax so amusing. All I could think when reading this was "Waaaahhhh! Why don't you call the Waaahhmbulance!"
Oh yeah, I received the email from them after specifically opting out.
Gotta love NewsMax!
