Piggy-backing off of
dengre's diary,
Abramoff: what's next and how you can help bring down the GOP, and some of the discussion there is the notion of starting a website to debunk much of the erroneous claims here, in the media and elsewhere and to show in greater detail Abramoff's political history.
Much of the media's reporting has been limited to Abramoff and his tribal clients, but a deeper look at Abramoff shows a long history of representing shady characters and cashing in on it. From his start as head of the College Republicans along with Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed, Abramoff has been dedicated to the furtherance of one-party Republican rule in Washington.
So, what better way to combat false claims, provide greater context and ready-access to information than starting a website.
This is very much in the planning stage but here's a short list of tasks that will be needed:
- web designers (obviously)
- writers
- editors, peer reviewers
- researchers (those with access to LexisNexis and other databases)
- graphic designers
- coordinators
Ideally we'll have a mixture of blogging of recent events as well as an archive of analysis pieces, old news stories, timelines and documents.
