Well for just a second the real conservative agenda reared it's head yesterday. Much like the compassionate conservatism campaign of Bush in 2000 smoke and mirrors held the real and scare truth
"well, never is a long time"
What was Stephen Harper talking about, very simply a womens right to choose. "Harpers' response when asked whether the Conservatives would pledge to never bring in legislation restricting abortion. "

"well, never is a long time" with some many things he could have said he basically said politically I can't say I want to change this law but once in power count on it.
This sent a shiver down my spine and for the first time I understand how many people who vote conservative don't release the package they are getting.....a smooth political machine similar to Bush that will say and promise anything to get into power. Now don't get me wrong the Liberals aren't perfect but they have done well with Canada. As a Canadian I am lucky in nearly everyway compared to most Western countries.
How else could he have answered this questions.
"this issue has been settled for a long time, while I don't personally believe in abortion the will of the people is clear and has been clear for many years. A conservative governemnt will not restrict Abortion"
Okay so he doesn't like abortion.....but he recognizes Canada has a firm majority in support of it. But no he has to leave room to attack it.....
What else is he lieing about....what else will he do.
This is what will happen with a COnservative minority......Number one all political appointies and Cabinent members will be conservatives....many of them very right wing and hawks. This will now be the face the world sees and hears, these will be the people voting in the UN.
Now with a minority Right wing bills will have a hard time passing but some will and most of them will be economic changes that benifit the minority of wealth Canadians.
Over time things will change just slightly. I can honestly say I will never vote for a conservative.
Well, never is a long time.
No I mean never.
